Our verdict on Tiller Money

Tiller Money is a personal finance service for people who want financial control inside Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel. It automatically imports bank transactions and balances, then organizes them through spreadsheet templates and tools for budgeting, spending analysis, cash flow, debt payoff, bill tracking, and net-worth monitoring. The service currently supports U.S. customers and uses U.S. currency and date formats, making it a focused option for spreadsheet-oriented household finance management.

The subscription costs $99 per year after a 30-day trial, with one listed plan. That plan includes Tiller Money Feeds, the Foundation Template, AutoCat, and community templates. The Foundation Template brings together budgeting, cash-flow, and net-worth views, while AutoCat handles automatic transaction categorization. The Bill Payment Tracker covers recurring and upcoming bills, and Hello, Money provides a daily financial summary email. A CSV Importer supports manual transaction and balance data, while spreadsheet data can be exported to CSV and other formats.

Platform fit is the central consideration. Tiller connects financial institutions through Yodlee or Plaid and works with Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel, giving spreadsheet users room to customize their financial views. Its Console is a mobile-friendly web app, but there is no native iOS or Android app. Tiller Money suits U.S. customers who prefer editable spreadsheets and want automated account updates alongside structured planning tools. It is less suitable for people seeking a free service, a native mobile experience, or a finance product designed outside the spreadsheet environment.
