Our verdict on TigerWeb
TigerWeb is a browser-based forestry system for managing and analyzing hardwood timberland data. It brings together GIS maps, field inventory and cruise data, growth and yield modeling, and reporting in a cloud deployment. FORECON positions it for lumber mills, family trusts, municipalities, land stewardship groups, and institutional investors managing timberland portfolios. Core work includes viewing tracts, stands, and plots; examining inventory; projecting growth; and preparing timber sales and harvest plans. FORECON, headquartered in Falconer, New York, was founded in 1954.
Pricing follows a contact-sales model, with demos available rather than self-serve checkout. The mapping workspace layers satellite, topographic, and other basemaps over tract, stand, and plot locations, giving planners a shared spatial context. Interactive inventory can be inspected at plot, stand, or tract level, while users draw areas of interest for growth projections. Static reports can be organized by management unit, tract, or stand, and Excel downloads include inventory and projection metrics. This combination suits teams that need operational analysis tied directly to mapped timber units.
TigerWeb is focused rather than broad: its stated emphasis is hardwood timberlands and forestry workflows, not a general business GIS. Cloud, browser delivery supports distributed portfolio access, while Excel export offers a handoff for further analysis. The product has no AI features and is proprietary, considerations for buyers seeking AI-assisted workflows or open-source extensibility. Organizations responsible for timber sales, inventory, and harvest planning should find a close fit; teams needing a different ecological focus, native non-browser deployment, or self-serve purchasing should compare alternatives.
