thethings.I.O is an IoT application-enablement platform for manufacturers, corporations, cities and digital innovators. It connects and manages devices across multiple protocols, processes incoming data, and supports dashboards, maps, graphs, historical data, analytics and alerts. Teams can use it for smart cities, industry, buildings, product digitalization, asset tracking, agriculture and air-quality monitoring. The platform is available through cloud and self-hosted deployments.

Pricing is paid, with a seven-day trial and no free plan. Annual billing starts at €25 per month for the PoC plan, which includes one admin user and one custom application. Pilot Run costs €84 per month annually and includes one admin user and three custom applications. Pre-Series costs €349 per month annually and adds 10 admin users, 10 custom applications, a custom brand and Bronze support. Monthly prices are €29 for PoC, €99 for Pilot Run and €399 for Pre-Series. Production includes unlimited things, unlimited data input transactions per month, unlimited cloud code seconds per month, Bronze support and the Retailers-Blinders Tool.

The platform’s strongest fit is connected-device operations rather than broad application development. Cloud Code triggers, jobs and functions support custom workflows, while threshold and event alerts can be delivered through SMS, WhatsApp, email and Telegram. Connectivity and ecosystem options include Sigfox, NB-IoT, LoRaWAN, The Things Network, MQTT-S, SendGrid, Twilio and Telegram. Organizations can deploy on AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure or local servers, with GDPR listed as a compliance feature. Choose thethings.I.O for IoT teams that need device management, data visualization and protocol support; teams seeking a general-purpose application PaaS should look elsewhere.
