Tencent EdgeOne Edge Functions review
An affordable edge-function option with broad routing, deployment, and scheduling support.

Tencent EdgeOne Edge Functions provides serverless JavaScript execution on EdgeOne edge nodes. It is designed for developers deploying functions to Makers projects, where HTTP requests are routed to handlers running close to users. The service fits teams building request-based edge logic, scheduled tasks, REST-style handlers, and applications that need Web-standard APIs such as Fetch, Cache, Web Crypto, Response, and Streams. The documented runtime supports JavaScript with ES2023 syntax, and environment variables are available through the function context.
Pricing is organized through EdgeOne plans that include Edge Functions. The Personal plan costs $4.20 per month and includes 3 million edge function requests plus 3 million milliseconds of edge function CPU time. Basic costs $57 per month with 20 million included requests and 20 million included CPU milliseconds. Standard costs $590 per month with 50 million of each. Enterprise uses custom pricing and customizable quotas. This makes Personal a clear starting point for smaller workloads, while higher tiers provide larger included allowances rather than a separate function-only plan.
Deployment and development options are broad for a JavaScript edge workflow. Local development and debugging are available through the EdgeOne CLI, while deployment can use Git-triggered CI, the CLI, or direct folder and ZIP upload. Functions support GET, POST, PATCH, PUT, DELETE, HEAD, and OPTIONS handlers, along with dynamic and multi-level URL routing. Cron-based scheduled tasks are configured in Makers. Teams should choose EdgeOne when scheduled handlers, flexible routing, and multiple deployment paths matter; teams seeking a runtime outside JavaScript should consider another option.
