Tencent CloudBase is a managed backend platform for web, mobile, Mini Program, and AI applications. It suits developers who want to deploy Deno applications alongside containers, static sites, serverless functions, databases, storage, custom domains, and scheduled jobs. Deno deployments use the CloudBase Framework Deno plugin, while CloudRun supports containerized services and custom runtimes. The CloudBase CLI and HTTP APIs provide additional ways to manage resources.

CloudBase presents four plan tiers: Free, Personal, Standard, and Enterprise. The Free tier includes 3,000 resource points per month, one free environment per account, database, functions, storage, and CDN capabilities. Personal raises the allowance to 40,000 resource points per month and adds resource pack add-ons, overage pay-as-you-go, and a 99.95% SLA for paying customers. Standard includes 330,000 resource points per month, 14-day data rollback, and connections to a customer’s own MySQL or SQL Server. Enterprise provides 1,500,000 resource points per month, WeCom integration, enterprise identity sources, audit logs, and a dedicated support group.

Its main strength is breadth. A Deno application can connect to managed MySQL, PostgreSQL, or document databases, use Cloud Storage with CDN integration, receive traffic through custom domains and the HTTP Gateway, and run timer- or cron-triggered functions. Git repositories and the CLI support static and frontend deployment, giving teams several deployment paths. That breadth makes CloudBase a fit for projects that need a wider Tencent Cloud backend rather than a narrow Deno-only service. Teams seeking a simpler hosting product focused primarily on Deno deployment may find the additional services and tier differences less suitable.

Tencent CloudBase pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Official Deno plugin for CloudBase deployments
    • CloudRun containers, static hosting, functions, and cron
    • Managed MySQL, PostgreSQL, document databases, and storage
  • Where it doesn't
    • The platform spans more services than a focused Deno host
    • Higher tiers are needed for rollback, integrations, and audit logs
    • Deno-specific bandwidth and edge-location details are not provided
