Tencent Cloud Web Application Firewall is a managed web-security service for organizations protecting websites, web services and APIs. It is aimed at Tencent Cloud users as well as external users, and supports small, mid-market and enterprise needs. Available as SaaS WAF or Cloud Native WAF, it filters web attacks and intrusion attempts while offering controls for crawlers, malicious bots and other access requests. The combination of web and API protection makes it relevant to teams that want more than basic request filtering.
Its feature set reaches into remediation and traffic management: virtual patching addresses high-risk and zero-day vulnerabilities, while rate and human-machine controls help manage CC attacks. Custom rules can target IP addresses, URLs, referers, POST parameters and regions. Data-leakage prevention supports masking and replacement rules, and webpage tampering prevention uses cached pages. API asset discovery and API security controls extend coverage beyond websites. These capabilities make WAF a fit for teams consolidating several web-security controls, though buyers seeking only a narrow, basic firewall may prefer a simpler option.
The published editions distinguish capacity and domain limits for non-mainland SaaS WAF. Advanced Edition specifies a 2,500 QPS default peak, 50 Mbps default bandwidth and up to 20 total domains including subdomains. Enterprise Edition raises those figures to 5,000 QPS, 100 Mbps and 30 domains; Ultimate Edition specifies 10,000 QPS, 200 Mbps and 40 domains. Exclusive Edition is custom-priced by ticket. Cloud and self-hosted deployment options, plus one-click Tencent Anti-DDoS integration and integrations with Tencent Cloud API Gateway, CLS and CKafka, suit Tencent-centered environments. Buyers should compare regional pricing and quotas before choosing an edition.
