Tencent Cloud WAF review
A cloud-native WAF with broad protection controls for Tencent Cloud environments.

Tencent Cloud WAF is a cloud-based web application firewall for websites, web applications, and APIs. It is designed for small and medium-sized websites, official websites, and larger or more complex business sites that need managed protection against common attacks, malicious bots, crawlers, and abusive traffic. The service supports DNS-based SaaS and cloud-native access modes, making it a natural fit for organizations already operating within Tencent Cloud environments.
The published plans scale by capacity and domain allowance. Premium includes 2,500 QPS default capacity and 20 domains, while Enterprise raises those limits to 5,000 QPS and 30 domains. Ultimate provides 10,000 QPS default capacity and 40 domains. All three include the managed rule protection engine and 0-day vulnerability virtual patching. Exclusive uses custom pricing, and the service is paid rather than free. Pricing is shown for the Mainland China edition in USD and may differ by region.
Protection depth is the main reason to consider Tencent Cloud WAF. Alongside vendor-maintained rules and virtual patching, it offers custom access-control and protection rules, frequency controls for CC protection, bot and crawler behavior management, API asset discovery, API security controls, and attack-log search and download. The log search and download capability requires a separate log package, with a user-defined retention period of up to 184 days for that package. Choose Tencent Cloud WAF when cloud-native deployment, API coverage, and layered traffic controls matter. Organizations seeking a free tier or a simpler, lower-commitment firewall should consider alternatives.
