Tencent Cloud Storage Gateway connects local or cloud environments to Tencent Cloud Object Storage (COS) and presents COS buckets as file systems. It is designed for organizations that need NFS access to object storage, including hybrid-cloud storage, backup and archiving, disaster recovery, data processing, and distribution workloads. Deployment can be cloud-based or local through VMware, making it relevant where existing environments need a file-oriented path to Tencent Cloud COS rather than direct object-storage access.

Pricing is offered through two paid cloud deployment gateway plans: Cloud deployment gateway - monthly and Cloud deployment gateway - annual. Published pricing starts at 1160, and COS storage charges are billed separately through COS. There is no free plan. The plan structure is straightforward, but buyers should account for both the gateway subscription and the underlying COS charges when evaluating the total cost of a deployment. The product is a better fit for teams already standardizing on Tencent Cloud than for organizations seeking a provider-neutral gateway.

Its strongest functional combination is NFS access, local caching, bandwidth upload and download limits, access-control rules, and client IP allowlists. Data remains in COS while frequently accessed and pending-upload data can be cached locally. Disaster recovery is supported through redeployment and COS-backed data. Integrations include Tencent Cloud CDN, Tencent Cloud Data万象, and Tencent Cloud Video Processing. The trade-off is a narrow protocol and cloud-target scope: NFS is the central file-access option and COS is the supported cloud target. Choose it for Tencent Cloud-centered NFS workflows; consider another gateway when broader protocol or multi-cloud coverage is required.

    • Supports hybrid and VMware-based local deployment
  • Where it doesn't
    • NFS is the centered file-access protocol
    • Cloud targets are limited to Tencent Cloud COS
    • No free plan; COS storage charges are separate
