Tencent Cloud Firewall is a cloud-managed firewall for controlling access and reviewing security activity across internet, NAT, and VPC boundaries. It is aimed at Tencent Cloud users who need centralized controls for public IP traffic, NAT traffic, or traffic between VPCs, without installing firewall appliances. Its web and API access, cloud deployment, and fit for small, mid-market, and enterprise organizations make it relevant across different cloud environments and scales.
The product's feature depth centers on boundary protection and traffic inspection. Internet-boundary policies manage public IP traffic, while NAT-boundary protection and VPC-boundary controls address other network paths. IPS real-time blocking is available on supported editions; virtual patching, malicious-code detection, and threat-intelligence-based blocking add security controls. Traffic and rule-hit logs support security analysis, and encrypted HTTPS/TLS traffic analysis is available in NDR. These capabilities suit teams seeking cloud-boundary controls with inspection and logging, though IPS is not included across every plan.
The published plans distinguish capacity and protections. Pay-as-you-go lists 10 Mbps north-south bandwidth and a maximum of 10 protected public IPs. Premium Edition adds IPS and 20 Mbps default north-south bandwidth, expandable to 200 Mbps; Enterprise Edition includes IPS with 100 Mbps, expandable to 1 Gbps; Ultimate Edition includes IPS with 300 Mbps, expandable to 100 Gbps. The service is paid, with a seven-day trial for eligible Tencent Cloud accounts. Bandwidth limits depend on firewall type and purchased specifications, so buyers should match the plan to traffic needs. It fits organizations committed to Tencent Cloud; teams seeking confirmed VPN coverage should compare alternatives.
