Tencent Cloud CLB is a managed cloud load-balancing service for distributing client traffic across multiple real servers. It is designed for organizations running web, application, gaming and other high-traffic services on Tencent Cloud, with web and API support. CLB supports up to 100 backends and covers both Layer 4 and Layer 7 traffic distribution, making it suitable for deployments that need protocol-level balancing as well as application-aware routing.
The published Pay-as-you-go plan charges instance fees even when an instance is idle, and the minimum billable period is one hour. Pricing varies by region and billing components. CLB’s paid model may suit teams that need managed traffic distribution within Tencent Cloud, but it is less suitable for buyers specifically seeking a free starting tier or a simple fixed-price plan. The billing structure should be reviewed alongside the required instance and network components for each deployment.
Its feature set is broad for Tencent Cloud workloads. Layer 4 listeners support TCP, UDP, TCP-SSL and QUIC, while Layer 7 listeners support HTTP, HTTPS and WebSocket traffic. Domain-name and URL-based routing, weighted round-robin, IP Hash, weighted least-connections scheduling, IP- and cookie-based persistence, customizable backend health checks, HTTPS certificate configuration and SNI support cover common application delivery requirements. Cross-availability-zone disaster recovery adds a resilience option. CLB also integrates with Auto Scaling and Cloud Connect Network. For global and multi-regional traffic distribution, Tencent Cloud pairs CLB instances with DNSPod. Choose CLB when Tencent Cloud integration and detailed traffic controls matter; consider alternatives if you need a free plan or a simpler billing model.
