Temps is an open-source deployment platform for developers and engineering teams that need production, staging, and branch-based preview environments. It deploys from Git repositories to infrastructure you control, supports GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Gitea/Forgejo, and other Git servers, and offers web, API, and self-hosted access. Each preview can receive a unique URL, isolated linked-service databases, and an optional custom domain with automatic Let's Encrypt HTTPS.

The platform’s strongest area is preview depth. Automatic branch previews are paired with pull-request and merge-request comments, Git-driven container deployments, and on-demand environments with configurable idle and wake timeouts. Teams can also use managed PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, and S3 services, while built-in analytics, error tracking, session replay, uptime monitoring, and API access extend the environment beyond deployment alone. This makes Temps a fit for teams that want application previews and supporting services in one system rather than a narrow URL-generation tool.

Pricing separates free self-hosting from paid resource tiers. The Self-hosted plan costs $0 forever and includes unlimited projects, deployments, and users, local unmetered telemetry, and MIT / Apache 2.0 licensing. Starter costs $29 per month, Team $99 per month, and Business $299 per month, with higher telemetry, retention, backup storage, and compute allowances at each tier. Enterprise provides custom telemetry, retention, backup storage, recovery policy, and region. Teams should choose Temps when self-hosting, database isolation, and broad preview workflows matter. It is less suitable for buyers seeking an immediately available managed cloud plan or automatic preview expiry.

Temps pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Automatic previews for non-main branches with unique URLs
    • Isolated databases plus managed PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, and S3
    • Self-hosted deployment with unlimited projects, deployments, and users
  • Where it doesn't
    • Managed cloud plans are marked “Coming soon”
    • Preview cleanup is manual and environments do not automatically expire
    • Paid plans limit telemetry, storage, and compute by tier
