Our verdict on TeachTown

TeachTown offers educational software and curricula for students with autism spectrum disorder, developmental or intellectual disabilities, and emotional or behavioral disorders. Its Basics program combines computer-delivered and teacher-led ABA lessons, while Social Skills adds video modeling, teacher lesson plans, interactive activities, visual supports, and a comic-strip builder. Parents, educators, clinicians, and school districts can access programs through web browsers and iPad apps. The emphasis is structured instruction and educator oversight rather than a self-directed consumer learning app.

Basics covers adaptive, cognitive, language, mathematics, and social-emotional domains. Automatic placement and adaptation use student performance, and educators can assign lessons based on IEP goals or facilitator selection. The curriculum also includes 300 teacher-led generalization lessons, reward games, digital generalization activities, progress reports, graphs, and data collection. This breadth makes it relevant to schools coordinating instruction and tracking progress across domains; it may be more than families seeking a narrowly focused practice app need.

According to the published plan details, the Annual Subscription is a TeachTown Basics homeschool license, including the entire Basics curriculum, on-computer lessons, reward games, digital generalization lessons, and additional adult facilitators at no extra cost. District and other product pricing requires consultation or a quote. SAML single sign-on and OneRoster support school ecosystem fit, and listed support channels include email, phone, tickets, and documentation. TeachTown is best suited to schools and educators looking for structured ABA curriculum and reporting; families considering a standalone app should weigh its broader curriculum and organizational focus against that need.
