Our verdict on T3 Books
T3 Books is web-based accounting software for churches and nonprofits that need fund-based financial management. It tracks restricted and unrestricted funds, grants, and programs, with fund-level balance sheets, income statements, and budget-versus-actual reporting. Donor management, giving statements, bank reconciliation, and timestamped audit trails round out its core accounting scope. It is aimed at organizations that need fund detail, while its Advanced tier specifically addresses nonprofits consolidating multiple organizations.
The published plans show three paid tiers. Basic costs $35 per user per month and includes one user license, unlimited funds, fund-level statements, budgeting reports, bank reconciliation, and donor management. Essentials costs $45 per month for up to two user licenses; it adds Plaid bank integration, AI transaction matching and categorization, labels, and saved and shared report packages. Advanced costs $75 per month and includes unlimited user licenses and integrations, automatic bank-statement reconciliation, multi-organization and multi-currency consolidated reporting, and inter-entity linked accounts. A 15-day free trial is available. The progression makes Basic suitable for a single-user operation, while Essentials adds collaboration and bank-connection features; consolidation is reserved for Advanced.
For organizations with more than one entity or currency to bring together, Advanced is the clearest fit, especially where linked accounts and consolidated reports matter. Smaller nonprofits focused on fund accounting, grants, and donor records can start with Basic; those needing bank integration or shared reports may prefer Essentials. Buyers should weigh the tier boundary against their reporting needs: a nonprofit requiring consolidated multi-organization reporting needs Advanced, rather than a lower plan. T3 Books also offers optional bookkeeping services separately from its software plans.
