Our verdict on SuperChinese
SuperChinese is a Mandarin Chinese learning app for beginners through intermediate learners, including self-learners, students, and professionals. Its curriculum progresses from beginner level through HSK5 and combines vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking practice. Real-life scenario lessons, animated thematic videos, gamified exercises, a placement test, personalized learning plans, and progress tracking give learners a defined path rather than a collection of disconnected drills.
The pricing structure supports both limited and long-term study. A free plan provides an entry point, while PLUS monthly costs $12.99 per month and adds speech recognition, AI-based spaced repetition, and gamified practice exercises. PLUS annual costs $69.99 per year with the same listed highlights. Lifetime VIP costs $149.99 as a one-time payment and includes lifetime access. Prices and offers may vary by region and platform, so the monthly, annual, and lifetime options suit different commitment levels.
Its strongest fit is for learners who want a focused Mandarin program with regular review and speaking support. Speech recognition targets pronunciation practice, while AI-based spaced repetition reinforces review; downloadable lessons and study materials support offline use. The app is available on web, iOS, and Android, allowing study across three platforms. Because its main learning offering is Mandarin Chinese, it is not designed for people seeking a multi-language app. Learners who want structured progress through HSK5 should consider SuperChinese; those working beyond that level may need additional material.
