Our verdict on Sunday Webry

Sunday Webry is Shogakukan’s manga service for readers who want to follow current and older titles from its Sunday magazines alongside original series. It is available on the web, iOS, and Android, with Japanese as its supported language. Readers can browse series and new chapter updates on the website, while the app offers daily ticket reading and additional ways to access manga. The mix suits Japanese readers comfortable with title-specific access rules; it is less suited to readers seeking a service in another language.

Access combines free and paid routes rather than one universal reading allowance. Tickets provide daily free reading and recover separately for each work. Coins or points open select chapters, while the app also supports purchases of collected manga volumes and subscriptions to selected magazines, including Weekly Shonen Sunday, Gessan, and Sunday GX. The app listings show in-app purchases and magazine subscription prices, but individual volume pricing varies beyond what is established here. Readers should check the relevant title and purchase terms before choosing a paid route.

The main draw is its Shogakukan and Sunday-magazine catalog, with both ongoing and older series plus original works. Availability is title-specific, so the service does not promise the same access model across the catalog. Choose Sunday Webry if daily ticket reading, select chapter purchases, volumes, or magazine subscriptions match how you read Japanese manga. Consider an alternative if you need non-Japanese content or a consistent access arrangement across titles. Support is listed by email, and the service is offered through its website and mobile apps.
