Sumo Logic is a cloud-native log management and analytics platform for DevOps, IT operations, and security teams. It collects logs through installed or hosted collectors, stores and indexes them in the Sumo Logic Cloud, and provides browser-based search, dashboards, real-time monitoring, alerting, and security analysis. Web access, APIs, and self-hosted deployment options support organizations managing varied infrastructure and operational workflows.
Its strongest fit is for teams that need more than basic log search. Real-time Live Tail helps monitor incoming events, while field extraction and parsing cover JSON, key-value, CSV, XML, and delimited logs. Processing rules can filter, mask, hash, and forward data. Dashboards and visualizations cover logs and metrics, and cloud and security analytics include anomaly and pattern detection. Management APIs and Terraform-based administration add automation options for larger operational environments. Integrations include AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, HTTP, Syslog, Kubernetes, Linux, and NGINX.
The Free plan provides 20 daily credits for logs, metrics, and traces, seven-day log retention, and support for up to three users. Essentials is a paid credits-based subscription with log analytics and monitoring capabilities and a self-service upgrade option. Enterprise Suite adds advanced security and analytics capabilities, lists unlimited log capacity in pricing configurations, and supports retention configurable up to 365 days. A 30-day free trial is also available. Sumo Logic suits organizations seeking broad managed log operations and flexible administration; teams wanting a narrower, simpler logging tool may find its collection of capabilities more than they need.
