Striim is a real-time data integration and streaming platform for enterprises moving data between databases, applications, files, cloud services, and messaging systems. Its strongest fit is continuous database-to-cloud migration, where change data capture, replication, streaming SQL transformations, schema handling, and monitoring matter. Teams can create database-to-database and database-to-cloud pipelines through a point-and-click interface, then monitor pipeline health, latency, and tables. The platform supports web, API, and self-hosted deployment models.

The available plans separate evaluation, managed cloud, and self-managed deployment. Striim Developer is free and includes automated data pipelines, serverless stream processing with SQL, OAuth connector support, password-security vaults, and up to 25 million events per month. It is an evaluation environment rather than a production or business-critical option. Striim Cloud adds dedicated compute and networking, customer-managed encryption keys, horizontally scalable distributed pipelines, and SOC-2 Type II, HIPAA, and PCI DSS coverage. Striim Platform lets customers deploy their own compute and adds clustered high-availability deployments plus self-managed monitoring and alerts. Striim Cloud and Striim Platform use contact-us pricing.

Its ecosystem is a major part of the product’s appeal. The published connector list covers AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Kafka, SQL Server, MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Zendesk, alongside more than 100 connectors across several system types. REST APIs support pipeline automation and alerts, while deployment can be fully managed through Striim Cloud or self-managed on-premises infrastructure and cloud virtual machines. Choose Striim when ongoing replication, transformation, and operational visibility are central requirements. Consider a narrower migration tool when the project needs only a small number of sources or a simpler one-time transfer.

Striim pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Change data capture with continuous replication and schema evolution
    • 100+ connectors across clouds, databases, applications, and messaging
    • Cloud and self-managed deployment with monitoring and REST automation
  • Where it doesn't
    • Paid tiers use contact-us pricing
    • Developer is not intended for production workloads
    • The broad platform may exceed narrow migration needs
