Our verdict on Stretta Music
Stretta Music is a web-based sheet-music shop for musicians, choirs and ensembles looking to browse and buy scores. Its catalogue spans instruments, ensembles and genres including classical, jazz and pop. Shoppers can choose downloadable sheet music for instant access or print editions, and the shop also sells music books, audio products and accessories. The company says it began in 2001 as a publisher offering sheet music exclusively for download, then added sheet-music distribution.
The purchase model suits buyers who want specific works rather than ongoing access to a subscription library. Each item is bought individually, with both downloadable and print editions available; the published product information describes no recurring paid plan. Catalogue filters for instrument, musical style, product type and difficulty give buyers ways to narrow a broad selection. Newsletter-based free sheet-music downloads offer a route to no-cost scores, though access is tied to the newsletter rather than a free plan.
Stretta’s focus is the shop and catalogue: it works in a web browser, and the available product description centers on browsing, purchasing and delivery of print products. Buyers seeking a dedicated digital-score reader or app-centered workflow may prefer a service that explicitly offers those tools. Similarly, musicians who need a subscription for ongoing access should compare alternatives, since Stretta sells individual editions. For choirs and musicians who know what they want and value a choice between instant digital access and print, its range and purchase options are the clearest fit.
