StormWall Appliance is on-premises DDoS protection software for organizations that need traffic processing within their own perimeter. It runs on physical or virtual x86 servers and provides always-on L3–L5 protection. Its positioning fits isolated networks, local infrastructure, and gaming services that need coverage for RakNet, SA-MP, Counter-Strike, and Steam protocols. The appliance also supports filtering by ASN, IP prefixes, and network policies, giving network teams control over how traffic is handled.

Licensing is available through Subscription and Perpetual plans. Subscription provides the right of use for the subscription term, while Perpetual provides a perpetual right of use. Both include Basic support for year 1. Pricing is quote-based, with the published configuration starting at 10 Gbps; final pricing depends on active port capacity, installations, and support tier. A 30-day free trial is available, and optional Basic, Advanced, and Private support tiers are offered.

The strongest fit is for teams that value local filtering, traffic visibility, and specialized protocol controls over a cloud-only deployment. Traffic capture and PCAP analysis, customizable dashboards and metrics, clustering and scaling, and a REST API support operational monitoring and external integrations. The main boundary is application-layer coverage: WAF and L7 protection require tandem use with StormWall cloud protection. Choose StormWall Appliance for isolated environments, gaming protocol coverage, and on-premises control; consider another option if standalone appliance deployment must include WAF or L7 protection.
