StationPlaylist is a Windows-based radio automation and streaming suite for internet stations, terrestrial broadcasters, DJs, clubs, restaurants, and retail venues. Its Creator component handles music and spot scheduling, while Studio supports live-assist and unattended playout. Streamer provides standalone internet radio stream encoding. Together, the components cover playlist creation, continuous broadcasting, live operation, audio playback, voice tracking, logging, and streaming workflows.

The published plans show a component-based pricing structure. Streamer costs $98 one-time for a standalone internet radio stream encoder. Creator Standard and Studio Standard each cost $159 one-time, with Creator Standard adding music and spot scheduling and Studio Standard providing live-assist and automation playout for small non-commercial use. Creator Pro and Studio Pro each cost $299 one-time. Creator Pro adds unlimited music categories and spot groups, voice tracking, and advanced song separation rules; Studio Pro adds advanced automation, voice track and song overlapping, and failsafe redundancy. Additional updates and support cost $39 per year for Creator or Studio, or $69 per year for the Creator and Studio bundle. A 30-day free trial is available.

StationPlaylist is strongest when detailed scheduling and automated broadcasting matter more than broad platform coverage. Features include timed events, jingles, spots, announcements, royalty-reporting data, playback of major audio file formats, and encoding in multiple codecs. Its streaming ecosystem includes Icecast, Shoutcast v1 and v2, Windows Media servers, RTP, and RTSP. The tradeoff is narrower accessibility: official support is centered on Windows, while Linux and macOS use through WINE is not officially supported. Stations should choose it when Windows deployment, rotations, separation rules, and unattended playout are priorities; teams seeking a single component or officially supported non-Windows operation should look elsewhere.

StationPlaylist pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • 24/7 unattended automation with rotations, categories, and schedules
    • Voice tracking, song overlap, separation rules, and live-assist playout
    • Multicodec streaming with Icecast, Shoutcast, RTP, and RTSP support
  • Where it doesn't
    • Officially supported on Windows; Linux and macOS require unsupported WINE use
    • Creator, Studio, and Streamer are sold as separate components
    • No free plan; entry pricing starts at $98 one-time
