Starus RAID Restore review
A specialist RAID recovery tool with broad reconstruction and image support.

Starus RAID Restore is Windows software for reconstructing damaged hardware and software RAID arrays and recovering stored files. It is designed for users and technicians working with failed, corrupted, or inaccessible storage, including single-drive volumes, DAS and NAS devices, JBOD arrays, and multi-disk RAID systems. Support covers RAID 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, 01, 10, 50, 60, 1E, 5E, and 5EE, along with software controllers such as Storage Spaces.
Its main strength is reconstruction depth. Automatic RAID analysis can identify array parameters, while presets organized by RAID controller manufacturer provide a guided route into recovery. The manual RAID builder adds control over RAID type, block order, block size, and delay, which suits specialists handling unusual or damaged configurations. The software also supports virtual disk image formats including DSK, HDD, VHD, VDI, VHDX, and VMDK, allowing recovery work from image files as well as physical storage.
Recovery extends beyond array assembly: Starus RAID Restore can scan damaged file systems, export recovered files, and preview recoverable content before export. That makes it a focused option for complex RAID incidents where configuration reconstruction and file visibility both matter. The trade-offs are its Windows-only platform coverage, paid-only model, and lack of bootable recovery. Choose it when broad RAID support, manual control, and virtual-image handling are priorities; consider an alternative when recovery must run outside Windows or from bootable media.
