Our verdict on Spriv Adaptive MFA

Spriv Adaptive MFA is a multi-factor authentication product for remote access, servers, workstations, and custom applications. It supports Windows Remote Desktop, Linux and Unix PAM, SSH, sudo, PowerBroker, and REST API connections. Its factor set includes adaptive workstation-and-phone verification, one-way SMS, two-way SMS, TOTP, and Allow/Deny approval prompts. The product is a practical fit for organizations protecting RDP and Linux-based administrative access, especially where a low-cost starting plan matters.

Pricing is straightforward across two monthly plans. Startup costs $0 per month and includes Adaptive MFA, Two-way SMS, Allow/Deny, TOTP, Windows RDP support, and SSH support. Business costs $7 per user per month and adds unlimited users, Active Directory synchronization, bulk user import, email and chat support, and a 24/7 support hotline. The free plan does not require a card to start, although SMS use requires card details to cover carrier costs. Buyers should compare the included access controls with their expected SMS volume and directory-management needs.

Its strongest technical fit is hybrid remote-access protection: Windows RDP has credential-provider integration, while Linux and Unix systems can use PAM for SSH and sudo. The REST API extends MFA to custom applications, and the management portal covers users, servers, policies, and reporting. Spriv also supports shared-cloud or customer-controlled server deployments. However, the product does not provide passwordless authentication, and its supported factors and integrations are more focused than broad platform suites. Choose Spriv for RDP, SSH, PAM, and custom-application MFA at a low entry price; consider an alternative if passwordless authentication or a wider ecosystem is central to the requirement.
