SPECworkstation review
Broad workstation testing with detailed exports, but limited to Windows and costly for commercial sellers.

SPECworkstation 4.0 is a Windows benchmark suite for engineers, scientists, developers, and other professional workstation users. It measures application-oriented workloads across AI and machine learning, energy, financial services, life sciences, media and entertainment, product design, productivity and development, plus accelerator, CPU, graphics, and storage subsystems. The result is a broad view of workstation performance rather than a test focused on one component.
Its main strength is the depth and flexibility of its workload coverage. The suite measures 23 workloads and more than 80 subtests, including data science and ONNX Runtime inference workloads. Users can select workloads and configure subtests individually, which supports targeted evaluations alongside broader benchmark runs. Results are available as HTML, CSV, and JSON files, while ZIP packages support submission or storage. A graphical interface serves interactive use, and a command-line interface supports automation in repeatable workflows.
Pricing makes the product suitable for different audiences. The free non-commercial license is available to users except sellers of computers and related products. Sellers require the Commercial license, listed at $5,000 as a one-time price. The supported operating system is Windows 11 Professional, so platform fit is a central consideration. SPECworkstation is a strong choice for professional teams that need wide workload coverage, configurable subtests, subsystem scores, and exportable results. Organizations requiring another operating system, or computer sellers weighing commercial licensing costs, should look for a benchmark suite that better matches those requirements.
