Our verdict on SongbookPro
SongbookPro is a digital songbook and setlist app for individual musicians, bands and other music groups. It is suited to performers who bring chord charts or PDFs to rehearsals and gigs, and to groups that want a shared library across devices. Songs can be organized into sets, text-based songs can be transposed with capo adjustment, and annotations can be handwritten or typed. Offline access supports use away from a connection, while auto-scroll and Bluetooth foot pedal control support hands-free viewing.
Its two purchase paths serve different needs. Solo is an in-app purchase listed at $6.99 one time, with a 12-song free trial; the vendor says the exact price varies by currency and is displayed in-app. Solo purchases are made separately across platforms. Groups costs $4 per user per year with annual billing and includes a shared group library, web-based library management and group access to the app. Group libraries can be managed online with permissions, and synced libraries are available offline. A 21-day free trial is offered, but there is no free plan, so occasional users should weigh that against the one-time Solo purchase and the Groups subscription.
The product's focus is flexible song files rather than browsing a traditional score catalog. Import support covers ChordPro, OnSong and PDF, and Google Drive is listed as an integration. Metronome with tap-to-set tempo, annotations, and set organization make it more than a file viewer, while supported apps span Android, iOS and Windows, with web-based management for Groups. Musicians working from chord charts or PDFs, especially ensembles coordinating setlists and notes, are the clearest fit. Those looking primarily for a conventional score catalog or a free ongoing plan should consider another option.
