SnapDeploy review
A low-cost Docker host for testing sleep-and-wake apps, with paid Always-On options.

SnapDeploy is a managed Docker hosting service from AAR Labs for developers deploying containerized apps from GitHub, public Docker images, ZIP files, or AI assistants. Its free plan is geared toward testing and low-traffic workloads: it allows up to 4 containers, 100 running hours per month, and 10 deploys per day, with automatic sleep and browser wake. Each free container has 512 MB RAM and 0.25 vCPU. HTTPS addresses and logs are included, making the free tier a practical fit for teams evaluating images or running apps that can tolerate sleeping.
Pricing separates always-on applications from managed databases. According to the published plans, Always-On Small costs $12 per container per month for 512 MB RAM and 0.25 vCPU; Medium is $25 for 2 GB RAM and 1 vCPU; Large is $45 for 4 GB RAM and 2 vCPU. Each runs 24/7 and includes custom domains with HTTPS, WebSockets, and a private container. Sprint Pack is a $1 one-time option for 24 hours of Always-On and unlimited deploys during that pack. Managed Database Mini costs $29 monthly and Standard costs $49 monthly; both list PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, or MongoDB, persistent storage, daily backups, and TLS connections. A separate $1 DB Sprint Pack offers a temporary database trial, with conversion to a monthly add-on required to retain its data.
Deployment options include GitHub push-to-deploy webhooks, Docker Hub, GHCR, Quay, public ECR, ZIP and Docker tarball uploads, and automatic Dockerfile generation with AWS CodeBuild. Logs, metrics, a traffic map, and automatic HTTPS are useful operational basics, while database add-ons and external object storage address persistence: application container filesystems are ephemeral. SnapDeploy is a fit for experiments and modest services that can use sleep/wake or priced Always-On containers. Teams needing autoscaling or persistent filesystems within application containers should look elsewhere; the listed specs do not provide those capabilities.
SnapDeploy pros and cons
- Where it wins
- Free tier includes up to 4 containers and 100 running hours monthly
- Deploy from GitHub or public Docker image registries
- Managed databases offer persistent storage and daily backups
- Where it doesn't
- Free containers sleep; browser-triggered wake may not suit always-on apps
- Application container filesystems are ephemeral
- Listed specs do not include autoscaling and specify one region
