Our verdict on Smart Launcher 6
Smart Launcher 6 replaces an Android device’s home screen with a customizable launcher. It is aimed at people who want installed apps sorted automatically, along with device search and flexible icon and widget placement. Its free plan and mobile-only deployment suit individual Android users more than people looking for a launcher across platforms.
The main strength is the combination of app organization and home-screen controls. Installed apps are grouped into categories, while an on-device search page helps find content on the device. The Fluid Grid System arranges icons and widgets, and wallpaper-adaptive theme colors can be edited manually. Built-in responsive widgets, adaptive icon support, configurable gestures and hotkeys, and a customizable news page extend the home-screen options. Users can also hide apps and optionally protect them with a PIN.
Smart Launcher 6 is freemium, with a free plan and Pro features sold as in-app purchases. According to the vendor’s description, it is distributed through Google Play; the published notes say the vendor’s pages do not state a current Pro price, and prices may vary by country. Backup restore progress appears in the app’s update notes. Choose it if automatic categories, on-device search, and customization are central to how you want to use an Android home screen. Consider another launcher if you need a non-Android option or need confirmed control over grid row and column counts.
