Skyglass is an open-source command-line tool for teams that need a local visual map of cloud infrastructure. It scans AWS, Azure and Google Cloud through read-only API calls, then presents resources and relationships in an interactive two-dimensional graph. Small businesses, mid-market teams and enterprises can use it to inspect multi-cloud environments without a SaaS account, while infrastructure specialists can import Terraform state files for additional context.

Its main strength is the depth of the infrastructure view. Force-directed layout, four-level semantic zoom, and search filters by resource name, type, provider or region help users move from a broad topology to specific assets. Blast-radius analysis highlights dependency impact, while per-resource, provider and category cost views add financial context. Snapshot history and change comparison support review over time, and exports to PNG, JSON, Graphviz DOT and CSV make the graph usable in documentation, analysis or other tooling.

Skyglass is designed for local deployment: the viewer runs in a browser on the user’s machine, and scan data remains there. That model suits organizations that want self-hosted inspection and control over where infrastructure data is stored. The trade-off is that teams seeking a centrally managed hosted workspace, built-in AI features or vendor-led support will need another product. Support is provided through community channels and documentation. Choose Skyglass when open-source, multi-cloud discovery and exportable dependency maps matter most; look elsewhere when managed collaboration or hosted operations are requirements.

Skyglass pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Discovers AWS, Azure and GCP resources in real time
    • Combines dependency, blast-radius and cost analysis
    • Exports PNG, JSON, Graphviz DOT and CSV files
  • Where it doesn't
    • Runs as a local viewer instead of a hosted SaaS workspace
    • Support is limited to community channels and documentation
    • Provides no AI-powered features
