Our verdict on Simply Fleet
Simply Fleet brings maintenance and fleet administration into one service for small businesses managing vehicles, equipment, drivers and maintenance workflows. It is available on web, iOS and Android, with tools for fleet managers, drivers and technicians. The Free plan covers up to 5 vehicles and 3 users, making it a practical starting point for a very small fleet. Essential costs $2 per vehicle per month and adds preventive maintenance scheduling, fuel, services and expense management, digital inspections, trip management, and asset and user management. Advanced costs $4 per vehicle per month and adds work orders, inventory management, telematics integration and priority support. A 14-day free trial is offered.
The feature set is broad for day-to-day records: maintenance reminders can be based on mileage, time or both; inspections support custom forms, photos, signatures and pass/fail checks; and work orders can track assignments, technicians, parts and labor. Fuel logging includes fuel-efficiency calculations and receipt capture, while expense tracking feeds total-cost-of-ownership reporting. AI functions include receipt and invoice scanning, voice logging and natural-language fleet reporting. Integrations include Geotab, Samsara, Verizon Connect, Motive and WEX Fuel Card. Trip logging can capture route, distance and location with GPS assistance, but this is not live fleet-location tracking.
The main tradeoff is scale and scope: the free tier has a five-vehicle limit and six months of data storage, while the paid tiers are priced per vehicle each month. Advanced is the relevant step up for teams that need work orders, inventory or telematics integration; Essential fits fleets focused on core maintenance and operating records. Simply Fleet suits budget-conscious, small fleets that want these workflows together across mobile and web.
