Our verdict on Shopware
Built for growing and enterprise businesses, Shopware combines ecommerce operations with omnichannel, B2B, international, and digital commerce capabilities. It centralizes catalog, pricing, inventory, sales-channel, and order management across online stores, marketplaces, social commerce, and physical retail. Deployment options include SaaS, PaaS, and self-hosted models, while the open-source core supports extension through APIs, plugins, apps, and integrations. European merchants and larger teams that need control over commerce workflows are the clearest fit.
Pricing spans a free Community Edition with an open-source core, modular architecture, and global developer community. Rise starts at €600 per month and adds unlimited sales channels, 3D capabilities, and basic support. Evolve starts at €2,400 per month and adds B2B Components, Advanced Search, and Dynamic Access. Beyond adds Digital Sales Rooms, Multi-Inventory, Subscriptions, and advanced 24/7 priority support. Commercial pricing is GMV-based, shown as starting prices, and excludes VAT; the plans have no transaction fee.
Shopware’s breadth is its main differentiator. Merchants can synchronize real-time inventory, reserve virtual inventory, manage multiple inventories, apply rule-based pricing and shipping controls, handle quotes and quick ordering, deliver digital products, and support recurring orders. Integrations include Amazon, eBay, Kaufland, Instagram Shopping, Facebook Shops, TikTok, and POS systems. The platform suits organizations willing to manage a broad commerce stack and invest in configuration or development. Smaller merchants seeking a simpler storefront, or teams that do not need omnichannel, B2B, or extensibility, should consider a narrower ecommerce platform instead.
