ShellHub review
A flexible SSH gateway for teams managing Linux device fleets.

ShellHub is a centralized SSH gateway for remotely accessing and managing Linux devices, servers and containers. It is designed for individual developers, small teams and organizations that need to control device fleets through a web interface or standard SSH tools. Each managed system uses an agent to establish its connection to ShellHub. The product supports web, Windows and Linux access, while its ecosystem includes Docker, FreeBSD, Ubuntu Core, Buildroot, Yocto Project and Kubernetes.
Access control is a central part of ShellHub’s feature set. Public-key authentication, multi-factor authentication, firewall rules, allowed and blocked IP addresses and users, and device approval help administrators define how systems can be reached. Role-based access control includes owner, administrator, operator and observer roles, while tags and namespaces help organize devices. Audit logging records SSH sessions, and session recording with playback adds a review trail. Port forwarding and SCP/SFTP file transfer extend the gateway beyond interactive shell access.
The published plans cover several deployment models. Cloud Free provides SaaS access for up to three devices. Cloud uses usage-based pricing billed monthly by connected-device volume and adds session recording. Managed provides a dedicated server, a fully managed service and support for up to thousands of devices. On Premises provides self-hosted deployment, a dedicated server and an admin console. ShellHub Community is open source for self-managed environments. Choose ShellHub when centralized access controls, fleet organization and deployment flexibility matter; teams wanting direct device access without installing an agent should consider a different approach.
