Our verdict on Shareathon

Shareathon is a web-based peer-to-peer fundraising platform for schools, PTOs, clubs, churches, teams, colleges, and nonprofits. Organizations can create campaigns with a fundraising goal, photo, story, and designated purpose, then invite supporters to share donation links through text, email, social media, and QR codes. Live donation and fundraising tracking, automated donor tax receipts, connected-bank payouts through Stripe, and sharing activity support campaign administration. Unlimited sharers and campaigns make the platform suited to organizations running simple, share-driven appeals.

Shareathon uses percentage-based campaign plans rather than monthly subscriptions. Shareathon Club allocates 60% to the campaign organization, 20% to the Share Fund, and 20% to Hogwild Fundraising LLC. Plain 80/20 allocates 80% to the campaign organization and retains 20% for Hogwild Fundraising LLC, with no Share Fund allocation. The plans apply at the campaign level, and the platform fee includes card processing.
