SFTPPlus is managed file transfer software for organizations exchanging files among internal systems, customers, suppliers, trading partners, and cloud services. It combines server-side transfer services with client-side orchestration, workflow automation, audit logging, web administration, and APIs. Support for Windows, Linux, macOS, virtual machines, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure makes it suited to teams with mixed deployment requirements. It is a strong fit for organizations that need broad protocol, identity, and deployment coverage rather than a narrowly focused file exchange tool.

Pricing is structured around perpetual software rather than hosted SaaS. The File transfer server with MFT capabilities plan starts at $1,900 per installation and includes FTPS, SFTP, SCP, HTTPS, AS2, and WebDAV services, unlimited users and connections, web management, web file access, and an HTTP API. File transfer client orchestration also starts at $1,900 per installation and adds automated transfers to remote services, retries, error reporting, centralized structured logs, and server-to-server transfers. A 30-day free trial is available, but there is no free plan. The starting price makes SFTPPlus a less natural fit for small or narrowly scoped deployments.

Its strongest area is breadth. SFTPPlus supports scheduled and event-triggered workflows, searchable audit trails, JSON-RPC administration, HTTP file-transfer APIs, PGP encryption, and TLS/SSH controls. Authentication can use local accounts, LDAP, RADIUS, Entra ID, Okta, and other providers, while integrations include SharePoint Online, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Files, Exchange Online, Amazon S3, Google Cloud, Oracle Database, IBM MQ, and SMTP. Kubernetes, OpenShift, container, virtual machine, and load-balancer deployment add operational flexibility. Choose SFTPPlus when protocol variety, identity integration, orchestration, and hybrid deployment matter; consider a narrower tool when the required workflow does not justify the per-installation cost.
