SentryMail is a self-hosted, open-core security awareness platform for organisations that run phishing simulations and measure employee responses. It combines customizable campaigns, landing pages, per-recipient tracking, risk scoring, suspicious-mail reporting and training modules. The fit is strongest for open-source teams that need local data control and want to simulate more than email threats, including SMS, Matrix, Nextcloud Talk and USB scenarios.

The free Community plan includes the open-source core, self-hosted deployment and community support through GitHub. Paid Business plans are billed annually at €25 per user per year for 25–50 employees, decreasing through €21, €18, €15, €13 and €11 across larger employee bands, to €10 for 2,501+ employees. Paid tiers add advanced phishing simulations and campaigns, reporting and analytics, and email support. The published pricing notes describe these as annual net prices, with a minimum order of 25 employees and VAT calculated at checkout.

SentryMail’s strongest advantage is breadth across awareness operations and the surrounding identity and monitoring stack. It supports Microsoft Entra ID, LDAP, SCIM 2.0, OpenID Connect and SAML, while SIEM exports can target Splunk, Elasticsearch, Microsoft Sentinel or JSON. Automated and risk-based campaigns, mandatory video training with automatic course assignment, and suspicious-mail reporting buttons for Thunderbird and Outlook extend the workflow beyond basic phishing tests. Choose SentryMail if self-hosting, open-source control and varied simulations matter; choose an alternative if you need a conventional hosted deployment or a support model centered on more than GitHub for the Community plan.
