Our verdict on SCRL
SCRL is a mobile-focused collage and social media design app from Appostrophe AB for creators, artists, influencers, and brands. It combines freeform canvas tools with structured grids, collage layouts, templates, photo editing, stickers, overlays, and editable text. The app is available on iOS and Android, with a web application also referenced in its terms. Its strongest fit is for people creating Instagram or TikTok carousels rather than general-purpose graphic design projects.
The product’s standout area is carousel composition. Users can create panoramic designs for Instagram, build projects with up to 10 slides on Basic or 20 slides on Premium, and combine photos with video layers on the higher tier. Templates cover collages, carousels, and stories, while exposure, color, and filter controls support image adjustments inside the same workflow. SCRL also supports videos in grids and lets users save projects as video, giving it more range than a photo-only collage tool. Giphy is listed among its integrations for added visual elements.
SCRL follows a freemium model with a free plan and a published 7-day free trial. The Basic plan includes basic creation tools, limited templates, and 10 slides per project. Premium adds advanced creation tools, unlimited templates, 20 slides per project, and video layers. According to the vendor’s pricing information, the Premium annual billing period is shown without an amount. Direct posting to Instagram and TikTok is useful for social-first workflows, and the supported web, iOS, and Android access gives creators several ways to work. Choose SCRL for carousel-focused visual creation and layered collage projects; choose another tool if you need broader design software or a simpler, photo-only editor.
