Our verdict on ScoreDesk
ScoreDesk is an Android app for musicians who want to read and organize their own PDF sheet music on phones or tablets. It is a reader and library rather than a score storefront, so it suits players with scores ready to import. Reading and annotating work offline, and the app combines library organization with tools for marking up and navigating pages. It is a narrow fit for Android users, not musicians looking for a catalog of scores or a cross-platform library.
Organization and performance tools are central to the app. Scores can be grouped and searched using metadata and tags, then arranged into setlists with bookmarks for sections. Annotations include freehand drawing, text notes and stamps. Users can crop, rotate, reorder and insert pages, and turn pages through configurable touch zones or Bluetooth and USB pedals. Audio playback alongside a score and a built-in metronome add practice-oriented functions without changing the app’s focus on PDFs.
Imports can come from the device or Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive and Dropbox, and the library and annotations can be backed up and restored. The free tier has library limits; a one-time Pro purchase removes those limits. That model may suit solo musicians who want a dedicated place for their existing PDFs, but buyers should weigh the paid upgrade against their library needs. Choose another option if you need included sheet music or support beyond Android.
