Sangfor Athena NGFW is a hybrid network security platform for enterprise perimeters. It combines stateful firewalling with intrusion prevention, SSL/TLS inspection and decryption, site-to-site IPsec VPN, web application protection, application control, URL filtering, malware inspection, threat intelligence, and IoT device protection. Security teams can deploy it through hardware appliances or virtual NGAF deployments, with web, API, and self-hosted platform support. Sangfor identifies Athena NGFW as the current product name for products previously known as Network Secure and NGAF.
Its main strength is breadth across network, application, and threat protection. AI-powered malware inspection, cloud threat intelligence, IoT device discovery, and protection extend the product beyond traditional traffic filtering.
