Salesforce Identity provides identity and access management for employees, customers, partners, Salesforce orgs, Experience Cloud sites, and connected applications. It supports single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, identity verification, centralized user management, app access, and customer identity experiences. The product is aimed most directly at organizations that use Salesforce as a central business platform and need employee, partner, or customer access tied to Salesforce services.
Pricing is organized as separate add-ons rather than one unified Salesforce Identity plan. Identity Connect costs $1 per user per month with annual billing and includes Microsoft Active Directory integration, user provisioning and deprovisioning, and single sign-on to Salesforce. Identity for Employees costs $5 per user per month with annual billing and adds employee access management and single sign-on for business applications. Customer 360 Identity costs $2,000 for 25,000 users per month with annual billing and covers customer and partner identity management plus cross-channel identity. The published plans show a low entry point, but the required capability determines which add-on applies.
Its strongest fit is the Salesforce ecosystem. Salesforce Identity supports SAML and OpenID Connect, SCIM 2.0 provisioning, Active Directory synchronization through Identity Connect, connected and external client apps, and the App Launcher for Salesforce and third-party applications. Integrations include Microsoft Active Directory, Google Apps, Microsoft Office 365, Box, and SCIM 2.0. Customer identity registration, login, and profile management extend the scope beyond workforce SSO. Choose Salesforce Identity when Salesforce-centered access, provisioning, or customer identity is the priority. Organizations seeking identity management less tied to Salesforce should compare alternatives with broader ecosystem coverage.
