SailPoint Identity Security Cloud is a multi-tenant SaaS platform for managing and governing identities, access, and entitlements across enterprise applications, directories, databases, and cloud environments. It is designed for identity and access management teams that need visibility into access, automated provisioning and deprovisioning, policy-based controls, certifications, and lifecycle management for human, machine, and other identities. Its scope is broader than single sign-on alone, covering joiner, mover, leave, termination, and archival processes alongside requests, approvals, roles, and access profiles.

The published plans show a progression from foundational governance to advanced intelligence. Foundations includes access request automation, basic certifications, access visibility, and automated provisioning. Standard adds workflows and forms, access modeling, application onboarding, lifecycle management, and access requests and approvals. Business adds role insights, role discovery, certification recommendations, the Access Intelligence Center, and Activity Insights. Business Plus includes everything in Business, plus adaptive approvals, author reports and dashboards, and advanced AI and governance capabilities. Purchasing is handled through contact sales, so organizations should expect a plan-selection process rather than a self-serve checkout.

Connectivity is a central part of the platform's fit for enterprise environments. SailPoint connectors support directory, application, database, and flat-file sources, while APIs use API keys and personal access tokens. Identity Security Cloud also supports SAML-based federated single sign-on and multifactor authentication through TOTP authenticator apps, Duo Web, RSA SecurID, and Symantec VIP. Low-code workflows and forms support tailored governance processes. Choose it when lifecycle automation, certifications, source connectivity, and access intelligence are priorities; organizations seeking open-source IAM or a narrowly focused SSO product should consider a different approach.
