Safeguard SCA analyzes direct and transitive dependencies for vulnerabilities, licensing risks, malicious packages, and supply-chain threats. It is designed for development, AppSec, compliance, and regulated teams that need dependency analysis, SBOM generation, risk scoring, and remediation workflows. Deployment options include web, API, self-hosted, and air-gapped environments, with support for npm, PyPI, Maven, Gradle, Go modules, Cargo, RubyGems, Composer, NuGet, and Hex.

The freemium pricing structure gives smaller teams a low-cost entry point. Free includes five fix PRs, 100 components scanned, 100 MCP tool calls per month, view depth for all scanners, and at least one on-demand scan per month. Starter costs $9 per month and raises those limits to 25 fix PRs, 2,500 components, and 1,000 MCP tool calls, with full scan depth on every scanner. Pro costs $25 per month and adds ticketing and posture remediation alongside higher limits. Plus costs $49 per month and adds bulk and compliance remediation, while Max costs $99 per month and provides the highest self-serve ceiling.

Reachability and call-graph analysis are the product’s standout capabilities, helping prioritize findings based on whether vulnerable code can be reached. Safeguard SCA also combines CVE, GitHub Advisory, and OSV data with EPSS, KEV, CVSS, and business-impact scoring. Dependency-confusion and typosquatting detection, lockfile-aware analysis, pull-request comments, safe-upgrade suggestions, and Griffin AI-assisted remediation extend coverage from detection into developer workflows. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket integrations suit teams with established delivery pipelines. Choose it for cost-conscious remediation and broad deployment needs; teams requiring higher included usage should compare the paid tiers carefully.
