Safeguard DAST tests deployed web applications from the outside by crawling pages, forms, parameters, and API endpoints before sending crafted requests and validating findings. It is aimed at teams that need coverage across authenticated web applications, single-page application routes, and APIs, including internal or on-premises environments through a self-hosted scanner pod. Its feature set spans targeted fuzzing for SQL injection, OS command injection, SSRF, XSS, and deserialization, alongside coverage scoring and separation of validated findings.

Pricing follows five platform plans. Free costs $0 forever and includes at least one on-demand scan per month, with all scanners available at view depth. Starter costs $9 per month and adds full scan depth on every scanner, 25 fix PRs per month, and 2,500 components scanned per month. Pro costs $25 per month with 75 fix PRs and 7,500 components; Plus costs $49 with 200 fix PRs and 20,000 components; Max costs $99 with 500 fix PRs and 50,000 components. The paid tiers retain full scan depth while increasing remediation and component allowances.

Safeguard DAST fits CI-led workflows through GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Buildkite, CircleCI, and Jenkins. Its hybrid deployment model combines web access with self-hosted scanner support, using mTLS to the control plane. Browser rendering helps scan single-page routes, while authenticated workflows cover form authentication, OAuth 2.0 refresh, JWT, session cookies, SAML, and mutual TLS. Teams wanting broad DAST at a low entry price should consider it; teams prioritizing a longer-established vendor may prefer an alternative.

Safeguard DAST pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Authenticated scanning supports OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, and mutual TLS
    • Discovers APIs from OpenAPI, GraphQL, gRPC, and live traffic
    • Per-PR delta scans and validated findings support focused remediation
  • Where it doesn't
    • The Free plan includes at least one on-demand scan per month
    • Full scan depth starts with the $9/month Starter plan
    • Founded in 2026, so its operating history is limited
