Runabase is a no-code desktop platform for creating custom database applications without programming. It is designed for individuals, small businesses, departments, and organizations that need tailored workflows rather than conventional software development. Users can define data structures and forms, link records between database objects, search records, generate documents from templates, attach files, and import or export CSV data. The platform is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, with self-hosted deployment and a free individual-use option.

Pricing is organized around individual and multi-user use. The Free plan has no limit on the term of use, data volume, or number of computers, making it suitable for a single user managing a local database workflow. The Business plan adds multi-user access on a local network or through the Internet, with pricing based on simultaneous users. It also includes seven days of free network testing. According to the published plans, Runabase is a practical fit for evaluating database workflows before paying for shared access, although teams should size the Business plan around concurrent usage.

Its main strength is breadth within a desktop database workflow: Runabase combines database creation, custom interfaces, linked records, document generation, file attachments, CSV exchange, SMS sending, and external web-service connections. Integrations include Microsoft Office, OpenOffice, LibreOffice, Microsoft Excel, MySQL, Microsoft Access, SMS providers, map services, and other external web services. The trade-off is its desktop-oriented approach and the need for the Business plan for network collaboration. Choose Runabase for straightforward self-hosted databases and department-level workflows; consider another product if your priority is a broader cloud-first collaboration environment.
