Remmina review
A free, multi-protocol Linux client for remote connections, file access, and profiles.

Remmina is a free, open-source remote access client for Linux desktops. It is aimed at users who need one desktop application for connecting to systems through several protocols, including RDP, VNC, SSH, SPICE, X2Go, and HTTP/HTTPS. Connection profiles, shared folders, file access, clipboard controls, kiosk mode, and multi-monitor support make it suitable for repeated connections and varied desktop setups. Linux users who prefer an open-source client with broad protocol coverage are the clearest fit.
Its main strength is breadth within the Linux desktop client category. Remmina supports remote desktop protocols alongside SSH connections and tunneling, SFTP, shared folders, and file access. Protocol-specific configuration allows the connection method to match the remote system, while profiles can organize recurring sessions. Multi-monitor support is useful for remote desktop work across more than one display, and kiosk mode gives the client a more controlled presentation. The project also provides packages and installation instructions for many Linux distributions, including Flatpak, Snap, Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Arch Linux, and Gentoo.
Remmina is less suitable for organizations seeking a broader remote-management product. Its published positioning is limited to Linux desktops, and it is not presented as a platform for unattended-access management, session recording, mobile access, or managed-device administration. That makes the product a strong choice for Linux users who value protocol flexibility, file access, and open-source software, but a weaker fit for teams that need centralized device controls or a wider operating-system footprint. Buyers in those situations should consider a product designed around those management and platform requirements.
