Red Hat OpenShift AI Feature Store is a feature-management component for ML platform, MLOps, data engineering, and AI engineering teams. It centralizes reusable feature definitions, connects them to online and offline stores, and supports both batch training and low-latency inference. The component combines a web UI, Python SDK, command-line interface, optional HTTP and gRPC feature servers, and deployment within Red Hat OpenShift AI Self-Managed on an OpenShift cluster.

Its strongest fit is an organization already standardizing on Red Hat and hybrid infrastructure. The feature store supports integrations with BigQuery, Snowflake, DynamoDB, Redis, Dask, Redshift, DuckDB, and GCP Datastore. Teams can define, read, and write features through the Python SDK, materialize features to online and offline stores, and use point-in-time joins for historical retrieval and training datasets. The web UI adds lineage, search, and entity management, while feature lineage and versioning monitoring support governance across reusable feature definitions.

The trade-off is platform dependence rather than feature breadth. Deployment requires OpenShift AI Self-Managed on an OpenShift cluster, and commercial access follows a contact-sales model with core-based or bare-metal subscription models and an underlying OpenShift subscription. Documentation describes Feature Store as a Technology Preview in OpenShift AI 2.25, while also presenting newer Feature Store releases. Choose it when self-hosting, Red Hat alignment, and combined training-and-serving workflows matter. A standalone feature-store buyer or a team seeking a product independent of the broader OpenShift AI platform should consider alternatives.
