Realm Panel is a free, open-source control panel for self-hosted multiplayer game servers. It provides web-based administrator and client interfaces, with Linux support for deployment. Administrators can manage users, nodes, servers, locations, allocations, permissions, eggs, and custom game templates, while clients control assigned servers through the web interface. Supported games include Minecraft, Rust, Terraria, TeamSpeak, Mumble, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Garry’s Mod, ARK: Survival Evolved, Factorio, FiveM, and others.

Its strongest fit is infrastructure control. The Wings daemon runs game servers in Docker-isolated containers, and the panel supports server provisioning, role access controls, mod and plugin management, and in-panel file configuration. Networking features include allocation management, subdomain management with DNS provider support, and per-allocation IP firewalling. These capabilities make Realm Panel suitable for operators who need control over nodes, server placement, addresses, and access policies rather than a basic server launcher.

Realm Panel also covers operational essentials through local or S3 backup storage, two-factor authentication, reCAPTCHA options, and an API for hosting operations. The trade-off is the self-hosted model: teams must operate the panel and its infrastructure themselves. It is a strong choice for open-source hosting environments that want Docker isolation and detailed networking controls. Organizations seeking a hosted service or a wider ecosystem of integrations should consider a different type of control panel.

Realm Panel pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Docker-isolated containers for game server operations
    • DNS, allocations, and per-allocation IP firewall controls
    • Open-source panel with a mature hosting operations API
  • Where it doesn't
    • Self-hosted deployment requires operator-managed infrastructure
    • Scheduled backups are not part of the documented feature set
    • The feature set is centered on hosting operations rather than broad integrations
