RDP Wrapper review
A focused Windows utility for extending built-in RDP with concurrent sessions and admin tools.

RDP Wrapper is an open-source Windows utility for enabling Remote Desktop Host support and concurrent RDP sessions on supported Windows editions. It is aimed at Windows users who need more flexibility than the built-in Remote Desktop setup provides, including simultaneous local and remote logon by the same user. The supported range documented by the project includes Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, with compatibility dependent on the installed Windows build and configuration file.
Its main strength is the set of capabilities added around native RDP. RDP Wrapper supports up to 15 concurrent sessions, subject to hardware and operating-system limits, along with multi-monitor support for the RDP host and session shadowing. It operates as a layer between the Service Control Manager and Terminal Services while leaving the original termsrv.dll file untouched. The included installer, configuration, diagnostic, update and uninstall utilities also give administrators tools for managing the setup without replacing the underlying file.
The tradeoff is a narrow, Windows-focused scope. RDP Wrapper does not extend to mobile apps or integrations, and it does not provide standard file transfer or session recording. Its compatibility is also build-dependent, so the supported Windows version list alone does not determine whether a particular installation will work. Windows users focused on concurrent sessions, shadowing and multi-monitor support should consider it; teams needing a broader remote-access ecosystem, mobile access or file-transfer and recording features should choose an alternative.
