rConfig is a network configuration management platform for network engineers, IT infrastructure teams, enterprises and managed service providers. It backs up configurations across vendors, tracks versions, compares changes, schedules network tasks, restores selected configurations and audits configurations against policies. Deployments run on customer-controlled infrastructure, including on-premises, hybrid and private-cloud environments. The free V8 Core edition is open source, self-hosted and supports unlimited devices, making it a practical starting point for teams that want control over deployment and configuration history.
Pricing follows a tiered freemium model. Core is listed at 0 USD as a one-time price and includes configuration backups, versioning and diffs, unlimited devices, self-hosted deployment and the open-source edition. Starter is listed at 3900 USD as a one-time price and adds configuration restore and deployment, policy checks and compliance, scheduled backups and support for up to 300 devices. Standard is listed at 6500 USD as a one-time price and adds compliance reporting, built-in AI and script automation, support for up to 1,000 devices and configuration restore and deployment. Enterprise / MSP adds custom capacity beyond 1,000 devices, a 24x7 support option, the Distributed Vector platform and enterprise deployment options; the published licensing description identifies this tier as an annual per-device subscription.
Its ecosystem fit is a notable strength for teams with existing monitoring, inventory, alerting or identity workflows. Integrations include Zabbix, NetBox, Nautobot, Statseeker, AKIPS, Checkmk, Paessler PRTG, Infrahub, HashiCorp Vault, Microsoft Teams, Slack, webhooks and SAML/OIDC identity providers. REST API access supports additional integration work, while multi-vendor device management, policy-based auditing, deployment automation and rollback cover core NCM workflows. Choose rConfig when self-hosting, open source and configuration control matter; teams needing restore, deployment, compliance reporting or AI automation should plan for a paid tier.
