RcodeZero DNS is a managed Anycast DNS service from ipcom GmbH for enterprises, ISPs, registrars and registries that want primary DNS outsourcing or secondary DNS. Zones can be managed through a web interface or REST API. The service combines geographically distributed DNS nodes with DNSSEC, unlimited queries, IPv4 and IPv6 access, and volumetric DDoS mitigation. Vanity name servers support branded DNS, while email alerts flag problematic zones.

The published monthly plans scale mainly by zone count. Starter costs €22 and includes 5 zones, DNSSEC, no query limit, and an average of 100 resource records per zone. Medium costs €56 for 50 zones and adds statistics; Large costs €135 for 250 zones and also includes statistics. Both Medium and Large retain the same average record allowance per zone and unlimited queries. A 30-day trial is advertised, rather than a permanent free plan. The pricing page states prices in EUR excluding VAT. This structure suits organizations choosing by zone volume, though the entry plan has a defined zone allowance.

Transfer support is a central strength: secondary zones synchronize over AXFR with DNS NOTIFY, and DNSSEC signing as well as support for pre-signed zones are included. The API and integrations for Kubernetes external-dns, Apache Libcloud, Lexicon, acme.sh and Certbot support automation workflows. RcodeZero is a strong fit for teams that need branded authoritative DNS, zone transfers and DNSSEC under one service. Organizations specifically seeking verified health-check failover or traffic steering should compare alternatives before choosing it.
