Ravion is an internal developer platform framework for teams that want to turn Terraform and OpenTofu modules into governed self-service workflows. Platform teams can define typed inputs, defaults, policies, pipelines, and approval gates, while developers and AI agents provision infrastructure, deploy applications, and inspect operational data. It runs infrastructure, builds, and pipelines in the customer’s AWS account, with access through a web dashboard, CLI, REST API, service accounts, API keys, and MCP workflows. This makes it a focused fit for AWS platform teams extending existing infrastructure practices rather than replacing them.

Pricing is module-based rather than user-based. The Individuals plan is free for one user, up to 50 modules of any type, and 2,000 pipeline minutes. Team Standard modules cost $5 per module per month with no platform fee or user limit, while Team Container modules cost $30 per module per month regardless of container count. Pipeline minutes include 50,000 monthly, with additional usage billed at $0.002 per minute. Enterprise adds custom volume pricing, contracts and invoicing, custom RBAC, on-premises deployments, and security and compliance agreements. A 14-day free trial is also available.

Ravion’s strongest area is the connection between infrastructure cataloging, controlled changes, and AWS operations. Teams get managed Terraform state, version history, drift detection, resource viewing, approval gates for plan, apply, and destroy, plus rolling, blue-green, canary, and linear ECS deployments. CloudWatch log streaming, metric charts, and infrastructure events extend the workflow into observability, while integrations include AWS Secrets Manager, AWS Systems Manager Parameter Store, and GitHub. Choose Ravion for AWS-centered self-service with transparent entry pricing; teams requiring Kubernetes deployment, broader ecosystem coverage, ownership features, or scorecards should consider a wider platform.

  • Where it doesn't
    • Kubernetes deployment is not currently available.
