Our verdict on Range

Range combines goal tracking with team communication, giving organizations a shared place for hierarchical goals, sub-goals, check-ins, meetings, action items, and reminders. It is aimed at small teams, growing organizations, and enterprises that want daily work connected to broader objectives. Teams can add metrics and statuses to goals, use tags to link work to objectives, and review goal topics during meetings. The product is available on the web, through a Chrome extension, and via API.

The free plan is a substantial starting point for smaller teams. It includes check-ins, meetings with agendas, notes, and action items, unlimited integrations, Slack and Microsoft Teams connectivity, up to 2 sub-teams, and tracking for 3 goals. The free plan is limited to 12 users. Pro costs $8 per user per month and adds a Team Directory, private meetings, guest users, unlimited goals, unlimited check-in and search history, and unlimited teams. A 14-day Pro evaluation is also available. Enterprise adds advanced user management, SSO with Okta and OneLogin, custom invoicing, a premium SLA, a vendor security audit, and priority account support.

Range fits teams that want goal reviews embedded in recurring communication rather than maintained as a separate reporting process. Its integration list covers workplace tools including Asana, Dropbox, GitHub, GitHub Enterprise, GitLab, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Jira, Trello, PagerDuty, Spotify, Zoom, and Email, alongside Slack and Microsoft Teams. The product should appeal to teams that value async check-ins and meeting follow-through as much as milestone tracking. Teams needing more than 3 free goals, more than 12 users, or more than 2 sub-teams will need Pro or Enterprise, while organizations seeking a narrower standalone goal dashboard may prefer a simpler tool.
