Our verdict on Radioform
Radioform is a native macOS menu-bar equalizer for people who want to shape audio across the entire system rather than tune individual applications. It processes audio through a virtual CoreAudio output device and supports macOS 13 Ventura and later on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. The free application includes a 10-band parametric equalizer, with controls for frequency, gain, Q, and filter type. Its menu-bar interface keeps the main controls close at hand without presenting a larger standalone workspace.
The feature set focuses on practical system-wide adjustment. Users can load presets, save custom curves, set a preamp, and apply the built-in limiter. Audio device switching does not require restarting, which suits setups where output hardware changes during the day. The combination of system-wide processing and parametric controls gives Radioform more flexibility than a basic fixed-band equalizer, while its scope remains centered on desktop audio shaping rather than broader audio production workflows.
Radioform is free, open source under GPLv3, and has no subscription. It also states that it collects no data. The main boundary is platform and routing scope: it is macOS-only, and the published feature set does not include per-app controls. Choose it if you want a focused system EQ with adjustable bands, saved curves, device switching, and a limiter at no cost. Look elsewhere if you need application-specific audio profiles or support beyond macOS.
